The Path Home

The light shines through the open shades,
relives the darkness that controls me,
But the feeling inside, the great abyss that it has become
driven there by the need to supply,
the light can not fix this alone, only to try and lead me home

I was once upon a hill looking so mighty down on all,
but it brought me down, it threw me to the ground left me in the dirt,
not knowing the hurt
it tortured me night and day, but i couldn't feel the pain
the hill became a mountain that i could only gaze
wondering how one could fall so far beyond

The light stuck hard at the heart,
I awoke form the daze, feeling so alone,
to conquer my true pain, for it proclaimed that all can be saved
I'll reach the peak again, but I will not be alone along the assent

  2. the image of light and dark reveals the hope and despair. the personification of the hill is really interesting! I'm curious.
